International BBS Conference

Our long-awaited international conference is on the calendar! Please join us in Minneapolis, Minnesota as we connect with and learn from other BBS families, hear from leading experts about cutting edge research on BBS, and ask questions of doctors and specialists who have experience treating many people with BBS. We chose Minneapolis because it is a relatively easy place to fly into from most cities in the U.S. and Canada and because of its proximity to the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin. We are excited to partner with Marshfield, which is providing a dedicated “clinic week” in the days following the conference (July 29-August 1); a clinic week for July 24-26 is pending. During these days, priority appointment scheduling will be given to individuals and families with BBS. Marshfield also hosts a dinner on the Tuesday evening of clinic week to give those attending a chance to meet fellow BBS families and share experiences.
CONFERENCE DETAILS
Accommodations: The hotel for the conference is the Wyndham Minneapolis South/Burnsville, located at 14201 Nicollet Ave., Burnsville, MN 55337. We have secured a discounted rate of $139/night for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. To book rooms, call 1-952-435-2100 and ask for the BBS Foundation rate or book online HERE. Event presentations and meetings will take place at the hotel.
Registration/Fees: The Foundation is working hard to make sure the event is as affordable as possible. For that reason, we are keeping the same costs as our last conference (2018): $90 for the 1st adult, $70 for additional adults, and $50 for those under 18. Your registration fee includes attendance at all sessions, lunch on Friday, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday. We will be providing limited child care at the venue. Schedule: We are still working on the conference agenda, but we will have some informal social time on Thursday evening, programming 9 am- 5 pm on Friday and Saturday, a community picnic on Saturday evening, and some additional informal programming Sunday morning. More details will be forthcoming.
Transportation: The Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport is roughly 20 minutes from the hotel, so it is easily accessible by Uber or taxi.
