Registration for our 2026 Family Conference is now open!

Please join us in Washington, D.C., July 31-August 1 as we connect with and learn from other BBS families, hear from leading experts about cutting edge research on BBS, and ask questions of doctors and specialists who have experience treating many people with BBS. We are still working on agenda topics and we’d love to know more about what interests you! You can email Molly at Molly.Henry@bardetbiedl.org with your ideas. We chose Washington, D.C. because it is a relatively easy place to fly into from most cities in the U.S. and Canada and because it is easily accessible via 3 major airports and public transportation. The timing of our conference also overlaps with a major cilia science conference that will bring leading researchers and experts together.

The conference will run 9 am-5 pm on Friday and Saturday.

Conference Details

Accommodations: The hotel for the conference is the Yours Truly DC. We have secured a discounted rate of $171/night. To book rooms, call 202-835-0100 and ask for the BBS Foundation Conference rate or online HERE. All events will take place at the hotel.

Registration/Fees: Rhythm is generously sponsoring the conference so that we can keep registration fees similar to our 2024 conference. Registration fees are as follows: $100 for the 1st adult, $75 for additional adults, and $50 for those under 18. Your registration fee includes attendance at all sessions, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Friday, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday.

A Race Against Blindness committed funding to make this year’s BBS Foundation Family Conference even more affordable . A Race Against Blindness will reimburse every BBS family for the costs of registration and for one night at the YoursTruly hotel. Attendees will receive the reimbursement in the form of a pre-paid gift card upon check-in at the conference. This applies to everyone who has already registered as well as all future registrations. (Note, registrations and hotel reservations will need to be paid in advance, with reimbursement at the conference.)

Transportation: Yours Truly is accessible by public transportation from Reagan, Dulles, and BWI airports. We recommend not renting a car if you are flying to the conference and staying at the Yours Truly. For those in the metro DC area, we recommend parking at a suburban Metro station and using Metro. Parking is available at the Yours Truly for a discounted rate of $45/day.
